Legal Aid Clinic
Legal Aid Centre has been established to extend the free legal advice and guidance to the needy persons in the society. Every year an advertisement in the local newspaper is given for due publicity. In response to the advertisement, several people approach the center about their disputes regarding agreement, partnership, divorce, custody of child, maintenance, disputes regarding appointment in service. The record of the said cases is kept at the Centre.
Initially detailed instructions are taken from the client. The problem is assessed and the client is given advice, which either helps them to file cases in the respective courts / Lok-Adalat/ tribunals or given counselling to resolve the dispute. Students also participate in the process to receive practical training for receiving the instructions from the client. This service is given free of cost to the concerned person. This service marks a symbiotic association of academic and society, which mutually benefit each other.
